The Child Development Center has two Respite Houses, one in Missoula and one in Kalispell. The CDC Respite Houses are available to families 24 hours a day (please call CDC for details). CDC offers the Respite House as a respite care option for individuals with developmental disabilities in Montana. The homes are fully accessible with spacious living areas, offering private bedrooms and a safe environment. The homes are staffed by personnel who are extensively trained and highly experienced in working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

- Emergency placement services
- Short-term foster home placement

Respite House Hosts
Our respite care providers are passionate about working with children with disabilities, very experienced in taking care of kids with disabilities, and trained in CPR, First Aid, Mandt, and some sign language. One is a PhD candidate in Child Development at the University of Montana, and has more than six years experience working with children with autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Reactive Attachment Disorder, physical or cognitive delays, seizures, and medical issues.
