Support for children and families coping with developmental disabilities.

Family Education and Support

Family Education and Support (FES) Services.

Home visits are made by Family Support Specialists and are scheduled based on the needs of each individual family. The primary purpose of a home visit is to carry-out activities that are related to the Individual Family Service Plan, and include:

  • Family and child education
  • Advocacy
  • Planning and implementing outcomes and objectives
  • Resource acquisitions and coordination
  • Habilitation aide training and coordination
  • Behavior support
  • Crisis intervention
  • Family support as related their child's disability

Regular FES provides home-based intervention services to eligible children ages birth through age 21 with an emphasis on parent education. FES services are designed to:

1. Help parents learn skills to teach their child
2. Support families
3. Assist in identifying and locating resources
