Autism Spectrum Disorder Evaluations

CDC offers evaluations to confirm or discount a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Kalispell, Missoula, Helena, and Bozeman. Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life. The result of a neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the brain, autism and its associated behaviors have been estimated to occur in as many as 1 in 99 individuals. Autism is four times more prevalent in boys than girls, and knows no racial, ethnic, or social boundaries. Family income, lifestyle, and educational levels do not affect the chance of autism’s occurrence.

CDC can evaluate a child under the age of five to determine if a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder is appropriate.

The evaluation is at no cost to the family and includes recommendations, referrals, and resources as warranted. ASD evaluations generally take up to four hours to complete with a discussion related to the diagnosis and an opportunity to ask questions following the testing.

If the child lives in Flathead or Lincoln counties of Montana, call CDC at 406-755-2425 or 1-866-755-2425 in Kalispell.

However, if the child lives in one of the following Montana counties: Beaverhead, Broadwater, Deer Lodge, Gallatin, Granite, Jefferson, Lake, Lewis & Clark, Madison, Meagher, Mineral, Missoula, Park, Powell, Ravalli, Sanders, or Silverbow, please call CDC at 406-549-6413 or 1-800-914-4779 in Missoula.
